Pacific ESI have used and installed Samba since 1.6 on a range of machines running Solaris, HP-UX, IRIX, AIX, Linux and all the BSD variants, as well as a range of older systems such as SunOS and SCO. These installations have had to support clients using the entire spectrum of Windows releases from desktops running XP, 2000, 9X and NT through to the various flavours of servers including NT and 200X Terminal Server. The largest system worked on to date involved an Australia wide network of machines with PCs and SUNs at the various nodes. The in-house testing site is a wide area network with three sites, remotely connected with PPP and with SUN, Linux and OpenBSD servers at each site all to which are connected numerous PCs running mainly a broad range of Windows releases.
